Hello Everyone!
It's been awhile since I've posted anything, and I am going to try to get better at posting more. I have been busy with Card Club here in England, a Card Swap group from the States, being a Key Spouse for my Squadron, Treasurer for the Middle School and trying to keep up with the house and family. Whew! Just typing that made me tired...how do I manage to make it through the day?!? LOL
Alot has happened since my last post. I will Highlight some of the majors. The first one is that my son "graduated" and is now in Middle School. How did that happen?? Seems like just yesterday he was the cutest little 2yr old making me laugh.
The Middle School Treasurer had to leave, due to her husband getting orders. Since two of the three Board Members knew me from the Intermediate School, they asked me to step in. These ladies are great! They are easy to get along with and we always have fun and laugh when we get together.
I joined the ranks of the Key Spouses for my Squadron. Usually in our Squadron a Key Spouse is assigned to whatever flight her husband works in. Since my flight already has 3, I asked if I could help out with another flight. I got paired up with a wonderful lady named Beth Ann in Fuels. I really like this group of ladies as well. Everyone is relaxed and love to get together and have fun. We did a Kids Halloween party and we did the Mad Scientist Lab (You remember as a kid and you would put your hand in the box and feel a brain which was really jello LOL). Apparently my Werewolf Vomit almost made a child vomit. I felt bad for the kid, but at the same time couldn't stop laughing. It was just banana pudding with peas and carrots :) We did the same boxes for the single Airmen. Once a month we get together and people donate food for the airman so they get a "home cooked" meal. For the Airmen we did "Nassty" Foods. One lady made ribs and then put little smokies underneath for a skeleton and another person did strips of cheese on her Mummy Meatloaf. There were some creative minds at work there too. And to end the night we gave the Airmen a pinata filled with candy and the small bottles of liquor.
Then in Sept my husband left on a Short Notice/Open Ended Deployment. For those of you who are not military, this means that he got 30 minutes notice to get ready to leave for his destination and we don't have date for his return. That means our plans to spend Thanksgiving, mine and CJ's B-days and Christmas at home with family aren't going to happen. While this makes us sad, we have learned to "roll with it". I was at the Middle School when he got the call, so we raced to the other base and made it in time for CJ to day goodbye to his Dad. My son has been GREAT since his dad left. He helps me clean and has even started helping me make dinner :)
Today I had Card Club with the local girls. Our Hostess wanted to learn how to do a suspension card. I gave them the base of the card and then let them go to it. These girls are SOOOO creative! We also did a Christmas Card Swap and since 3 of us have B-days this month, we did a Birthday Card Competition. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the B-day cards :( But I did get some of the girls suspension cards and the swaps.
That's all for now. Sorry for the long post, but I hope you enjoyed it and the pictures.

British Finds and March Card Swap
I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted on the blog! I'm so sorry :( I have been busy crafting and shopping. I'm not usually a shopper, but my favorite antique dealer (Wooldridge) is leaving us to head back to the States to take care of his family. But I am so excited, as I have been working with them for over 2 years trying to get a specific piece of English History...and I FINALLY GOT IT! I got my very own Victorian era British Postbox. It's a postbox that was somehow damaged and "retired" by the British Post Office. Wooldridge then restored them as best they could and mounted them on a pub stand. Mine looks pretty good from the front, but the back door to the box is pretty damaged, but I'm ok with that and think it adds character. I'm also the only one with a Victorian Postbox from Wooldridge. Most others are Edwardian, Georgian or Elizabethian I or II. My husband has also been looking for a pub sign the last few years, but couldn't find "just the right one". He finally found "the one" after Wooldridge had posted a picture of their showroom. Here are the pictures of our Postbox and Pub sign:

I'm having some issues with our Post Office over here and I'm really trying to be patient. I have had two replacement Large Paper Doily's sent and have received neither one of them. I also haven't received all my card swaps from the girls in the States, so I don't want to post those. But I will post my card that I made for the girls in the States and the one for my local group, as it seems that they've all received theirs.

So here is a funny story...One of the girls in my Stateside group emailed me to say that she received my card and then told me about her cousin who was retiring from the Air Force in England, but she couldn't remember what base. She then told me her cousin's name and guess what! He was our old First Sergeant! What a small world! He is a great man and we are really going to miss him. He was a great First Sergeant who handled his troops with a gentle but firm hand. And when he left our squadron to go take care of Security Forces, he never forgot us and always had a minute to stop and say "hi" and "how are you?". Here is the retirement card I made for him:
Well, this is all I have for today. Enjoy the pics and I'm going to go out and enjoy some lovely English Spring weather (we don't get many sunny days, so we must take full advantage when we can LOL)

Moving & Valentine's Cards
Hello everyone!
I managed to get some crafting in this week and had fun at my swap on Friday. I haven't taken pics of the cards I got on Friday yet, because I have to clean up my craft area first ;)
For the card swap, Chantel was the hostess and she decided she wanted to do moving cards since this was going to possibly be her last month with us (sniff sniff). I cased the idea for this card from "creative.express" at SplitcoastStampers. For Competition the theme was "Just Because..." I entered a card that I had left over from the other swaps. I still can't post it, because not everyone has received it.
For Local Swap
I received 3 of my cards from the 6 girls in the States. I unfortunately have not taken pictures yet, because again...my craft area is a disaster ;(
Also this week, I made some heart shaped boxes for a friend who needed something for her sons 3 teachers. Karen Miller posted a video on Stampin' Connection for this very project. As I had to make 3, I managed to find my groove and the more I made, the easier it got. I think I will make one more for my son's teacher :) Here are the pics of those boxes:
I am hoping to post more later this week and I hope everyone has a great week.

We got SNOW!
So first let me say that I'm sorry I didn't post anything last Sunday. I had a lot of cards to get done for swaps. I have 6 girls in the States and then I joined another one where we had to make 12 cards. Whew! I got them all done and in the mail on time :)
Since making all those swaps (I will post pics when everyone gets theirs), I made this card for a friend of a friend who just had her baby girl and I played with my new Blossom Box. Then I had to take a break and get some work done both at my job and in my home. But here are the pics:

We also got our first real snow of winter last night. We got about 5" and most of us enjoyed it. I miss snow and so I enjoy it everytime we get it since they are so few and far between. Since we were mostly homebound due to the snow, I tried two new recipes. I made some Chik-Fil-A nuggets (courtesy of http://www.mynameissnickerdoodle.com/2011/03/fabulous-food-friday-79.html) that came out DELICIOUS. I even have enough left over for 6 more meals :) The other recipe was for Banoffee Pie...for me that was HEAVEN in a pie tin (courtesy of http://www.brooklynlimestone.com/2010/08/recipe-banoffee-danger-pie.html#.Tu6t-jVWo1s). Trust me when I say that it tasted better than it looks LOL. Enjoy all the pics and I promise to do more cards this week :)

More about Card Swaps
I was so excited the other day! I got the second set of swap cards from the girls in the States. These cards are GREAT and I think I may have to step up my game a bit :) But that's the great thing about card swaps...They challenge you to be more creative (at least that's how I feel). So here is the 2nd set of swaps.
Sarah B, Missouri
Sheila R, West Virginia
Regina G, New Jersey
I also had my Card Club on Monday and as always, I had a fabulous time making the sample cards. Here they are:
So I'm sure many of you have heard that Stampin' Up is redesigning the catalog structure. I'm very excited! I think this is going to be a GREAT change for our customers. While I'm sad to see the Decor Elements and Simply Adorned lines leaving, I think the extra month they are giving our customers to purchase from the "mini" will improve sales. Although I think we may need to find a new name, as "Mini" just doesn't fit, since they will be bigger in both size and pages ;)
Now to go off subject for a bit. I believe I have the greatest and smartest Westie ever! When I go to leave the house I just need to grab my coat and she automatically runs into her kennel and sits down. This morning as I was getting ready to take the kids to school, I yelled "Come on boys it's time to go" and she looked up at me and then went to her kennel. I really wish I could leave her out when I leave, but she's so obsessed with the cat, that I feel like Daizey just needs a break. Vodka just wants to play with Daizey, but Daizey doesn't want to. And it seems that the more Daizey swats at Vodka, the more Vodka thinks its a game. They are quite entertaining :)
That's it for now, so GO BE CREATIVE!
